Our book-a-berth sailing weekends are a fantastic way to get out on the water at a great price as you don't need to find people to share the cost of a yacht. Come on your own or with friends and just book the number of places you want. We use our Nautitech Open 40 catamaran for these trips which has 14 berths on board, but numbers are limited to 10, so there's always plenty of space. Accommodation is in one of four spacious double cabins, the inner and outer saloon, or there's a small but private crew bunk accessible through a forward hatch. And if the boat is only part full we can still sail with a minimum of just three on board. Our trips make full use of a weekend (usually Friday evening to Sunday afternoon) and bank holidays give us time to go a little further. So that's at least two days sailing, accommodation on-board throughout, use of safety equipment, yacht fuel and gas all included. When we've all met and finalised our plans, we'll get supplies for breakfasts, lunches and snacks and share the cost between everyone. The only other costs are your travel to and from the boat and a contribution towards mooring costs away from our home berth. These trips are suitable for both novice and experienced sailors and all are welcome. Each trip is led by a professional sailing instructor and there is plenty of opportunity to get involved so you record the miles in your logbook as you are definitely part of the crew. |

We have a choice of target destinations within the Solent or further along the coast as far as to Brighton to the East or Weymouth. On longer weekends, we may plan a trip across the Channel to France or the Channel Islands. The destinations are always weather dependent and at the discretion of the skipper. We won't normally proceed with a Channel crossing if there is thick fog or a strong winds warning in force. But if you only booked a trip because you wanted a particular destination that isn't possible for whatever reason, you can either opt out for a full refund or come sailing anyway and try again at a later date for half price by selecting the relevant option under 'Possible discounts'. There's also a discount for booking with a friend and you'll get a cabin to yourselves. We only need 2 guests (plus the skipper) to make a trip viable, but if you are ultimately the only person booked, we will refund any monies paid and offer you 50% off your next booking to say sorry. And if you have a special diet, you can bring your own food and we won't ask you to contribute towards the supplies. Just to confirm, the prices include: Day, weekend or longer on a cruising catamaran Professional skipper/instructor Fuel for the boat and gas for cooking Mooring costs at our home berth Lifejackets and all safety equipment Free parking at the marina Yachtmaster 60Nm qualifying passage sign-off where possible Extras: Travel to/from the marina Wet weather gear if you want it (you can decide on the day) A contribution towards mooring costs away from home base Share of the cost of supplies for breakfast, lunch and snacks Evening meals ashore |
